PM Shehbaz Sharif Accuses Previous Government of Enabling Terrorist Resurgence

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has blamed the previous government for the resurgence of terrorism in Pakistan, stating that their policies allowed militants to re-enter the country after years of successful counterterrorism efforts. Addressing members of the Overseas Pakistanis Global Foundation, he criticized the former administration for providing safe havens to terrorists, calling it an act of national betrayal. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism once again, emphasizing the sacrifices of 80,000 Pakistanis in the fight against extremism.

The Prime Minister also highlighted a 30% rise in remittances from overseas Pakistanis, which has bolstered the country’s foreign exchange reserves. Additionally, he announced plans to restore the Green Channel system, instructing the finance minister to expedite the process.
