Supreme Court of Pakistan Constitutes Nine Benches for Next Week’s Hearings

Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has announced the formation of nine judicial benches for the upcoming week, following the recent appointment of new judges. The court has also released the roster and cause list for the scheduled hearings.

According to the details, Bench No. 1 will be presided over by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, accompanied by Justice Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb. Bench No. 2 will include Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, while Bench No. 3 will consist of Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Aamer Farooq.

Bench No. 4 has been constituted with Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Aamer Farooq, whereas Bench No. 5 will feature Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Irfan Saadat, and Justice Malik Shehzad. Meanwhile, Bench No. 6 will be presided over by Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Shakeel Ahmed.

Furthermore, Bench No. 7 will comprise Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Salahuddin, and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim. Bench No. 8 will include Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, whereas Bench No. 9 will consist of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam.

Additionally, a seven-member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin, has been scheduled to hear constitutional cases from February 18 to 20.

The restructuring of the judicial benches aims to streamline proceedings and ensure efficient case management within the apex court. Legal experts believe that the appointment of new judges will enhance the overall functioning of the judiciary and expedite pending cases.
