Islamabad: The Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, ordered the Ministry of Information Technology (IT) to carry out the implementation of the Ramadan Relief Package according to his directives. Sources indicate that the package will operate with 9999 as its shortcode to verify users and communicate and that the IT Ministry has the responsibility to both maintain system efficiency and accuracy.
The Information Technology Ministry received orders to connect mobile numbers with CNICs across the country as part of streamlining distribution procedures. The National Telecommunication Corporation has established a control room for monitoring the operation of the relief package distribution.
The Ramadan Relief Package will disburse funds to 3.9 million qualified families who are in need. Each deserving family enrolled in the program will obtain a single cash payment of Rs. 5,000 as part of a Rs. 20.5 billion budgeted fund.
The government has changed its distribution method since previous relief packages by no longer using utility stores as the aid delivery channel.
Through this effort, the government plans to send money right away to household protectors throughout the spirit-filled Ramadan period to show its care for societal welfare and financial relief. The authorities will reveal additional distribution information later.
