Islamabad: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Railways rejected the briefing of the Additional Secretary of the Interior on the Jafar Express tragedy. Expressing serious resentment over the absence of the Home Secretary in the meeting, the agenda was postponed until the next meeting. The meeting was told that 214 government employees were on board the train, to which the members questioned why security measures were not taken if there were such a large number of government officials. The IG Railway Police, suspecting a lack of resources, said that the terrorists had first attacked the FC post, and the security guards present in the Jaffar Express resisted as per their ability.
