Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that an increase in revenue is necessary to get the country out of debt. Speaking on a visit to the FBR headquarters, he said that the process of digitization of the FBR has begun and this step is an important step towards a prosperous Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that the 27 percent increase in tax revenue is commendable, but for further improvement, it will have to work day and night. He said that tax cases worth trillions of rupees are pending in the courts for which quick decisions are inevitable. He also said that the track and trace system has not been used effectively in the past and the loopholes in the institutions have to be removed.
Shehbaz Sharif said that institutions will be strengthened with the use of modern technology. It is the priority of the government to provide facilities to investors, and we will get rid of debt depending on our capabilities.
