Kabul: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said in a media briefing after meeting the Afghan interim leadership in Kabul that Pakistan is returning Afghan refugees to their homeland with dignity and respect. He said Pakistan and Afghanistan have to work together for development, stability, and peace in the region.
Dar met interim Afghan Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund and discussed key issues including security, trade, transit cooperation, and people-to-people contacts. He also called for addressing issues of security and border management so as to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The foreign minister also said that no country’s territory should be used for terrorism, and the position of both countries in this regard is clear and consistent. He also invited Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi to visit Pakistan.
