Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that the development of Pakistan is hidden in adopting the national language instead of English language. Chairing a meeting of the Civil Services Reform Committee in Islamabad, he said the existing civil services system has become like a closed door for the common citizens.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the growing concern about civil services in the society needs to be taken seriously. “This institution has been reduced to the elite class, while it should be a medium of public service.
He said that one of the major reasons for the development of China and Turkey is that they gave priority to their language, we have to take the same path. If English was the guarantee of development, Pakistan would have become the third largest power in the world.
