ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has decided to take the international community into confidence on its foreign policy decisions in the wake of India’s recent actions. In an important briefing held at the Foreign Office, the heads and representatives of more than 30 foreign diplomatic missions were briefed on the recent decisions of the National Security Committee.
Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch briefed the diplomats in detail about the situation after the Pahalgam attack and the outcome of the National Security Committee meeting. “Such tactics are a serious threat to peace and stability in the region,” he said.
The Foreign Secretary stressed that Pakistan is fully capable of giving a befitting reply to any Indian aggression. He warned against attempts by India to escalate tensions and said Pakistan was fully committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and security.
The briefing is being described as an important effort by Pakistan to apprise the international community of the seriousness of the situation and clarify its position. According to sources, Pakistan will further clarify its position on this issue at other international forums, including the United Nations.
