Karachi: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, while addressing a function in Karachi, said that “no one will be allowed to sit as a snake on the powers of Karachi.” He alleged that the city is being deprived of its constitutional and administrative rights.

Hafiz Naeem said that Karachi has been deliberately kept away from its legitimate mayor and powers. “Now even the number plates of vehicles are being made again by us, this is a serious joke on the city,” he said sarcastically.

He expressed serious concern over the education budget and the condition of schools. According to him, 26.2 million children are out of school in Pakistan, out of which only 10 million children in Sindh are deprived of education. He demanded that the effective use of the education budget of Rs 631 billion be ensured.

The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami announced that the “Education Card” project launched in Gulberg will be expanded throughout Karachi. “We will provide the best education and training to the children of Karachi by protecting them from drugs,” he said.

Finally, he said that development work has started on 5 government schools in every town of Karachi, which is part of Jamaat-e-Islami’s education-friendly vision. “We will not compromise on the rights of Karachi, this is our resolve,” Hafiz Naeem said.
