Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has taken a strong swipe at India and said that India is harming peace in the region by using water as a weapon. He said that Pakistan has always tried to maintain peace in South Asia, but the situation is becoming tense due to India’s constant propaganda, violation of treaties, and allegations of terrorism.
Addressing a function in Islamabad, Atta Tarar said that baseless accusations were made against Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident, while we demanded an impartial investigation into the incident from the international community.
He clarified that Pakistan itself is the biggest victim of terrorism; our soldiers, civilians, children, and law enforcement officials were martyred in this war. He said that the fabric of many terrorist acts is connected to Indian soil and foreign funding.
Atta Tarar termed India’s Hindutva policy as a threat to regional peace and said that India is challenging Pakistan’s survival by unilaterally suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
The Information Minister said that the real war is one of propaganda; India tried to defame Pakistan through false narratives at the global level, but Pakistan’s diplomacy showed the world the truth.
He said that even after the Pulwama incident, India chose the path of aggression instead of investigation, which is raising questions about its credibility in the international community. Atta Tarar demanded that the Kashmir issue be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions so that lasting peace can be established in South Asia.
