Polio campaign postponed for 10 days in Punjab due to floods, to start in other provinces from September 1

Islamabad: The National Task Force for Polio has decided to postpone the anti-polio campaign in Punjab for 10 days in a meeting.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federal Ministers Mustafa Kamal and Ahad Cheema, in which the chief secretaries of all provinces and relevant officials participated. It was decided that due to the recent flood situation, the polio campaign could not be started in Punjab on September 1.

Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal said that the anti-polio campaign will continue in Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from September 1, while the campaign will start in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from September 15.

He said that with the help of public representatives, the anti-polio campaign will be made successful, and it is hoped that every child in the country will be protected from this incurable disease soon. He said that out of the 16 polio cases reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 13 have come from the southern districts, so special attention is being paid there.
