Heavy rains likely in Punjab in next 24 hours, NDMA issues alert

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that heavy rains are expected in various districts of Punjab and Islamabad in the next 12 to 24 hours.

According to the alert, heavy rains are likely in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Chiniot, Faisalabad and Sargodha and other nearby districts.

The NDMA said that there is a possibility of rain in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan and Rajanpur.

The agency has warned that problems may increase in flood-affected areas due to rains, so citizens should not go near rivers and streams and avoid unnecessary travel.
