Clinic on Boat” project for flood victims in Punjab, to be launched in 48 hours

The Punjab government has taken a unique step to provide immediate treatment to flood victims. The “Clinic on Boat” project will be launched in the province in the next 24 to 48 hours.

This announcement was made in a review meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir. It was decided in the meeting that mobile clinics set up on boats will reach the flood-affected areas and provide basic medical facilities.

Khawaja Imran Nazir said that after the success of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s flagship program “Clinic on Wheels”, now “Clinic on Boat” will also prove to be a game changer for the people. According to him, this initiative shows the seriousness and people-friendliness of the government in difficult circumstances.

In the meeting, the provincial minister also directed to take emergency measures to prevent the spread of dengue in the flood-affected areas.

Health experts say that if this project is implemented in a timely and transparent manner, not only will the victims get immediate relief but the foundation of the emergency medical system in Punjab will also be strengthened.
