PIA announces resumption of flights to Toronto from September 30

The National Airline (PIA) has announced that the suspended flights to the Canadian city of Toronto will be resumed from September 30. According to a PIA spokesperson, the first flight PK 783 will depart from Karachi to Toronto.

PIA had temporarily suspended its flights from September 13 to September 28 due to shortage of aircraft and non-availability of spare parts. Airline sources said that long-haul non-stop flights to Toronto are usually operated by Boeing 777LR, however, both aircraft are currently grounded.

Sources said that the landing gear of one aircraft is yet to be replaced, parts are available but due to lack of necessary equipment, timely installation could not be possible. In this situation, the Toronto flight will now be operated by Boeing 777, 300ER.

The airline has also announced good news for passengers that a 15 percent discount will be given on tickets on the Toronto route, which will be available until October 10, while these tickets will be able to travel until December 19.
