The prices of poultry products have once again increased in the provincial capital, due to which citizens have expressed concern over inflation.
According to the latest price list, live chicken is being sold for Rs 328 per kg, chicken meat for Rs 475 per kg and eggs for Rs 315 per dozen in Lahore. The recent increase in prices has directly affected the budget of domestic consumers.
According to shopkeepers, the increase in prices has been due to the increase in poultry feed, transport and production costs. On the other hand, citizens say that the measures taken by the administration to control prices are insufficient, as a result of which daily food items are becoming out of reach of the people.
Experts say that if the prices of poultry feed and diesel are not reduced, there is a risk that the prices of chicken and eggs will increase further, which will increase the difficulties of the common man.
