FBR sources say that so far 5.1 million people have filed tax returns, while the number was 4.6 million during the same period last year. According to officials, the date has been extended to facilitate the public and reduce pressure on the system.

Earlier, on September 30, the last date for filing income tax returns was extended by fifteen days and was extended till October 15, 2025. Now, taxpayers have been provided relief once again by giving an additional period of sixteen days.

The Revenue Department says that all those who have not yet come under the tax net should fulfill their legal obligations by filing returns on time, otherwise they may face fines and legal action.
