The Federal Ministry of Production has proposed a temporary ban on the export of mutton, beef, chicken and eggs in the context of the increase in meat and poultry prices in the country. According to sources, the agricultural and livestock sectors have been affected due to flood conditions, which is having an impact on the supply and prices of meat.

According to reports, the price of mutton in Lahore and other cities has reached Rs 2,500 to 3,000 per kg, while the government-set price has been set at Rs 1,600 per kg for mutton and Rs 800 per kg for beef.

Sources say that in case of a ban on exports, domestic prices of mutton, beef and chicken are likely to decrease, and the aim of this move is to provide meat to consumers at reasonable prices.
