Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has said that Pakistan stands by its principled stance that the full responsibility for controlling terrorism originating from Afghan soil lies with the Afghan authorities.
In his statement on social media platform X, he said that the Afghan Taliban have failed to fulfill their international, regional and bilateral commitments as per the Doha Peace Agreement. The Information Minister clarified that Pakistan has goodwill feelings for the Afghan people and desires their peaceful future, however, Islamabad will not support any move by the Taliban government that is not in the interest of the Afghan people or neighboring countries.
Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan will continue to take all necessary steps to protect its people and sovereignty. He also thanked Turkey and Qatar for their role in mediating the talks.
