Pakistan Stock Exchange Sees Volatility as 100-Index Drops to 161,687

The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a mixed trend at the start of the trading week today; however, selling pressure pushed the market down in the closing moments. The Hundred Index closed at 161,687 points after a decline of 248 points.

The market witnessed clear fluctuations during the trading session. At one point, the index reached a high of 163,602 points, while a low of 161,481 points was also seen due to weak investment sentiment.

According to investors, cautious trading is being seen in the market due to the uncertain environment regarding the economic situation, the direction of interest rates and the next phase of the IMF programme.

At the end of week, the Hundred Index closed at 161,935 points; however, the negative trend today affected the overall investment atmosphere.
