PIA, Biman Bangladesh Sign Key Cargo Interline Agreement Effective December 1

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed a major special interline agreement with Bangladesh’s national carrier Biman Bangladesh for air cargo cooperation. According to sources, the agreement will be formally implemented from December 1, 2025, with the aim of making cargo movement between Pakistan and Bangladesh faster, better and more organized.

Under the agreement, three major cities of Saudi Arabia — Jeddah, Medina and Riyadh — will be used as transit points. Through these gateways, a new regional corridor for the movement of goods between the two countries will come into existence, which is also expected to strengthen trade in the Middle East and South Asia.

PIA sources said that this partnership will reduce the logistical problems faced in the movement of sensitive and valuable cargo such as textiles, pharmaceuticals and agricultural products. Together, the vast networks of both airlines will provide more efficient, secure and cost-effective cargo services to exporters and importers.

According to officials, this cooperation will not only be beneficial for Pakistan and Bangladesh but is also expected to significantly increase the volume of bilateral trade. The spokesperson said that PIA is committed to providing the best cargo facilities in the region to the Pakistani business community.
