Faisal Javed demands meeting with the founder of PTI and the government’s strong stance

During the Senate meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Insaf loudly raised the issue of not allowing the founder of PTI to meet. PTI Senator Faisal Javed asked in the Senate, “The government should clarify when the founder of PTI will be allowed to meet his family and colleagues.”

In response to a question from Faisal Javed, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that the PTI founder has been provided with the facility of “six big barracks”, which is not available to any ordinary prisoner. He said that “no prisoner in Pakistan has a kitchen, exercise machines or similar special facilities, but the PTI founder is taking advantage of all these facilities.”

During the government’s explanation, the opposition benches protested strongly and raised slogans, which led to a ruckus in the Senate. Talal Chaudhry continued his speech and said that “the jail is being used as a center for creating political drama. After losing the by-elections, the PTI is raising this issue to hide its performance.”

He also said that the family members and lawyers of the PTI founder are meeting at different times, so the impression of restriction or obstruction is not correct.

According to experts, the fact that this issue was raised in the Senate shows that the tension between the government and the opposition will increase further in the coming political weeks, and both sides will use it for their respective narratives.
