Dense Fog Alert Issued for Punjab; NDMA Warns of Low Visibility in Coming Days

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert in view of the threat of severe fog in different parts of the country during the next three days, due to which visibility is likely to be affected.

According to the NDMA statement, several districts of southern and central Punjab, including Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu and Sahiwal, may be engulfed in severe fog. In addition, the areas of Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran and Vehari have also been warned of increasing fog intensity.

The statement said that there is a possibility of fog in the areas of upper Sindh, especially Sukkur and its surroundings, while fog is likely to cover the federal capital Islamabad at night and early morning.

According to the Meteorological Department and Disaster Management officials, the traffic flow on motorways and highways may be affected due to severe fog. Experts have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, reduce vehicle speeds, and take safety measures.
