Biman Airlines to Resume Dhaka–Karachi Flights from January 29

Bangladesh’s national airline, Biman, is set to resume flights to Pakistan after a gap of several years, with the first flight scheduled to fly from Dhaka to Karachi on January 29.

According to sources, two weekly flights will be operated between Dhaka and Karachi in the initial phase. People associated with the travel industry say that as soon as the booking of seats began, all the seats on the initial flights were sold out within a few hours.

According to travel agents, the restoration of direct air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been welcomed by the people of both countries, especially businesspeople and families.

The Civil Aviation Authority had allowed Biman Airlines to operate direct flights to Karachi on government instructions, while last month an agreement was also signed between Pakistan International Airlines and Biman Air regarding cargo services.

According to aviation experts, the revival of the Dhaka-Karachi route will not only improve travel convenience but is also expected to increase trade and cargo activities between the two countries.
