The Cabinet Division has issued an official list of government holidays across the country for the year 2026, under which there will be public holidays across the country on national, religious and historical days. According to the notification, government offices, educational institutions and most government activities will remain suspended across the country on February 5 on the occasion of Kashmir Day, while March 23 will also be a public holiday on the occasion of Pakistan Day. Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays According to the notification, there will be three consecutive public holidays on March 21, 22 and 23, 2026 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr so that citizens can celebrate family celebrations along with religious rituals peacefully. Labor and Defense Days May 1 will also be a holiday across the country on the occasion of Labor Day, while government institutions will remain closed on May 28 in connection with Youm-e-Takbir. Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram Three-day holidays have been announced for Eid-ul-Adha on May 27, 28 and 29. Apart from this, 9th and 10th Muharram will also be public holidays across the country.

According to the notification:
August 14: Independence Day
August 25: Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)
November 9: Allama Iqbal Day
December 25: Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas
There will be official holidays across the country on all these days.
Citizens have welcomed the list of holidays and said that getting advance information will make it easier for travel, celebrations and family planning.
This move by the Cabinet Division will be a convenience for the public, as now people will be able to plan their holidays throughout the year in a timely and better manner.
