To ensure citizens can celebrate and prepare for the festive occasion without hurdles, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has officially released its gas management plan for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026. The new schedule prioritises cooking hours while implementing strategic shutdowns during late-night hours.
According to the SSGC spokesperson, a major relief has been announced for Chand Raat. Consumers will receive uninterrupted gas supply starting from the night of the moon sighting until midnight on the first day of Eid. This move is aimed at facilitating families with their traditional “Chand Raat” preparations and early Eid morning cooking.
The Eid Day Schedule:
For the first and second days of Eid, SSGC has confirmed that gas will be fully available for 18 hours—from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight). To manage system pressure, a mandatory shutdown will be observed for six hours overnight, specifically from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
From the third day of Eid onwards, the supply window will be slightly reduced, with gas available from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Following the conclusion of the Eid holidays, the company will revert to the standard load management schedule that was in place prior to Ramadan.
Safety and Support:
The utility provider has urged consumers to use gas responsibly during peak hours to ensure stable pressure for everyone. Furthermore, SSGC has placed its emergency teams and 1199 helpline on high alert. Complaint centres will remain operational 24/7 throughout the holidays to address any technical faults or leakages promptly.
