PSX Market Capitalization Erodes by Rs 261 Billion in a Volatile Trading Week

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a sharp erosion in investor wealth this week as the total market capitalisation dropped by Rs 261 billion. By the close of the trading week, the total value of the market settled at Rs 17,067 billion, down from previous levels.

Despite the negative trend in the index, trading activity remained active. A total of 1.28 billion shares changed hands during the week, with the total value of trades recorded at Rs 79 billion.

While the high trading volume indicates active participation, the decline in overall capitalisation reflects a broader correction in share prices across key sectors.

Market experts are keeping a close watch on upcoming economic indicators to gauge the direction of the market in the coming week.
