Distributors have taken a stand on the recent crisis in the LPG market and the unprecedented increase in prices, blaming supply shortage as the main reason.
LPG Distributors Association Chairman Abdul Hadi Khan said that the supply in the market is very less compared to the demand for gas and distributors are getting the goods at high prices from behind, due to which they are unable to sell at official rates.
He criticized the regulatory bodies and said that OGRA and importers have completely failed to stop the sale of LPG at high prices, which is being borne by the public.
Experts say that until prices are controlled at the import level and the supply chain is improved, stabilizing prices at the local level will remain a major challenge.
