Pakistan is once again going to become the center of global diplomacy, where hopes of thawing the ice between the US and Iran have been raised. US President Donald Trump has confirmed in his recent statement that there is a strong possibility of the second round of talks with Iran taking place in Pakistan, and he has given the credit for this to Field Marshal Asim Munir. Trump says that the way the Pakistani leadership is handling this sensitive issue, there is no question of going to any other country after this. Interestingly, this time Tehran’s inclination is also clear towards Pakistan. Iranian officials had already said that if the second round of talks begins, Pakistan will be their top priority. Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance has thrown the ball in Tehran’s court, saying that now it is up to Iran to decide, but Pakistan has strengthened its position by proposing a meeting in Islamabad before the ceasefire period ends. If this meeting is arranged in the next 48 hours, it could prove to be a historic turning point not only for the region but also for global politics, where Pakistan has emerged as a neutral and effective mediator.
