Security on high alert in Islamabad on the arrival of Abbas Araqchi

Islamabad

Unusual security arrangements are being seen in the capital after the arrival of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Islamabad. Security was further tightened in sensitive areas of the city on Saturday, especially check posts have been set up on all routes leading to the red zone.

Police and Rangers personnel are deployed on important highways, government buildings and important places. As part of the security arrangements, surveillance has also been increased around the famous Serena Hotel in Islamabad, where important diplomatic meetings are underway.

According to sources, Abbas Araqchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday night and met Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar at the Serena Hotel. This is the same place where a round of important talks related to the United States has also been held earlier.

Meanwhile, according to US officials, US special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Saturday, where they will participate in possible talks with the Iranian Foreign Minister.

The White House has further said that US Vice President JD Vance, who led the first round of talks with Iran earlier this month, is also ready to visit Pakistan. However, those talks failed to reach a final conclusion.
