Iranian FM Lands in Muscat After High-Level Security Talks in Pakistan

Continuing a whirlwind diplomatic mission aimed at regional de-escalation, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reached Oman on Saturday. Leading a senior diplomatic delegation, Araghchi is seeking to build a regional consensus on ending hostilities involving US and Israeli forces before heading to Moscow for the final stage of his tour.

The mission gained significant momentum in Islamabad, where Araghchi consulted with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. The discussions focused on a collaborative approach to regional security and the urgent need to halt the expanding war. Araghchi hailed Pakistan’s proactive role, describing the country’s mediation efforts as vital for regional stability.

In a statement on X, the Foreign Minister emphasized that Iran values the “brotherly efforts” of Pakistan in its pursuit of a peaceful Middle East, highlighting a shared commitment to preventing further military escalation in the zone.
