Long summer vacations announced in Punjab due to intense heat, schools closed from May 22

In view of the increasing intense heat and heatwave situation in Punjab, the provincial government has announced a major decision for educational institutions.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced on Monday that summer vacations in all schools across the province will start from May 22 and these holidays will continue till August 23.
He clarified that all schools will reopen on August 24.


The Education Minister also shared this announcement on his official Facebook account, where he informed parents and students about the decision.


The decision comes as temperatures in the province have risen to dangerous levels and the Meteorological Department has predicted further heat waves.

According to government sources, the aim of this decision is to protect students from heatstroke and other health problems.
