Iran-US talks likely to take place in Islamabad

During the ongoing diplomatic activities in the Middle East, news of a possible agreement between Iran and the US has become the centre of global attention, while there are reports that the next important round of negotiations may be held in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.

According to Arab media reports, the two countries are close to finalising the text of the agreement, and diplomatic contacts are continuing rapidly. Sources say that the agreement may include important points such as not only the nuclear programme but also reducing tensions in the region, maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and economic cooperation.

According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan is playing an active role as a facilitator in these talks. In recent days, Islamabad has made several diplomatic efforts to facilitate contacts between Tehran and Washington, which have been described as positive by various regional countries.

Meanwhile, important meetings of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran have further strengthened these reports. According to Iranian media, regional security, diplomatic relations and various aspects of a possible agreement were discussed in these meetings.

Experts say that if the talks are held in Islamabad, it will be a major diplomatic success for Pakistan. According to analysts, Pakistan is playing a mediating role at a time when tensions between Iran, Israel and the US in the Middle East have also affected the global economy.

According to economic observers, the possible agreement could stabilise global oil markets. If tensions in the Strait of Hormuz decrease, global trade routes will be safe, while countries like Pakistan that rely on imported oil could also get economic relief.

Diplomatic circles say that Pakistan’s current strategy is not limited to regional peace but also aims to increase its diplomatic influence globally. This is why Islamabad has increased its contacts with the Gulf countries, Iran and Western diplomatic circles in recent weeks.

According to analysts, if an agreement is reached between Iran and the United States, its effects will not be limited to the Middle East but will also be significant in South Asia, global energy markets and international diplomacy. Pakistan is emerging as an important bridge in this whole process, which is being seen as a positive development at the global level.
