Rain and dusty winds predicted in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

After intense heat in different parts of the country, signs of change in the weather have started to become noticeable, and the Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of rain and thunderstorms in Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent rain is expected in the upper areas, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Murree, while clouds may also fall in Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Bajaur and Malam Jabba.

The report says that there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Peshawar, Chitral, Kalam, Abbottabad and Buner, while thunderstorms are also expected in Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, Bannu and Parachinar.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is also a risk of wind and hail in some areas, due to which weak structures and power systems may be affected.

During the last 24 hours, rain was recorded in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after which the weather became relatively pleasant. The highest rainfall was reported in Upper Dir, Kalam and Drosh.

Meanwhile, despite light rain at a few places in Lahore, the heat intensity remains intense. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in the city today, while the temperature may reach 41 degrees Celsius.

According to experts, this series of rains may provide temporary relief during the ongoing heat wave in the country, but the heatwave-like situation in the plains is unlikely to end completely.
