Education, Health and Security Receive Major Funding in Balochistan Budget

The Balochistan government has presented a budget of Rs 1089 billion for the financial year 2026-27, in which clear financial priorities have been set for various social and developmental sectors.

Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Noshirwani, while presenting the budget in the Balochistan Assembly, said that the government has tried to maintain discipline in expenditure keeping in mind the current financial situation.

According to the budget documents, the government has included education, health, law and order and social security among its main priorities.

Rs 157.28 billion has been allocated for education, while Rs 73.99 billion has been allocated for health. Both these sectors are fundamental for human development and are an important part of the government’s development vision.

Rs 107.99 billion has been allocated for law and order to improve the performance of security and law enforcement agencies in the province.

Similarly, Rs 55 billion has been allocated for the housing sector and Rs 15 billion 13 crore for social protection, which is aimed at supporting the weaker sections.

According to the budget, Rs 270 billion 53 crore has been allocated for general public services, which will be used for government administrative expenses and provision of services.

Non-development expenses have been estimated at Rs 797 billion 80 crore, while Rs 291 billion 55 crore has been proposed for development projects.

In financial resources, an income of Rs 30 billion 61 crore is expected from federal grants, which will help in the development projects of the province.

The cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti approved the budget documents, after which it was presented in the assembly.

According to experts, this budget is mainly an attempt to maintain a balance between administrative expenses and social services.
