Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said after meeting with Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian that Pakistan and Iran have reiterated their commitment to work together for peace, stability and development in the region.

After the Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan, the Prime Minister said in his statement on social media that the meeting between the two leaders took place in a pleasant and positive atmosphere, where various bilateral and regional issues were discussed in detail.

According to the Prime Minister, during the discussion, it was agreed that dialogue and diplomacy are the most effective ways to resolve the problems facing the region. He said that both Pakistan and Iran are in favor of peaceful resolution of disputes and promotion of regional stability.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the two countries have also agreed to further strengthen mutual relations and increase cooperation in all areas of common interest. These areas include trade, investment, energy, regional relations and people-to-people contacts.

He thanked the Iranian leadership and said that considering Pakistan a reliable friend and neighbor reflects the trust existing between the two countries. The Prime Minister termed this trust as the foundation for stronger relations in the future.

Analysts say that high-level meetings between Pakistan and Iran can play an important role in further strengthening the relations between the two countries. Especially at a time when the region is facing various political and security challenges, the importance of cooperation between the two countries has increased.

According to experts, economic cooperation, border trade and regional connectivity projects can give new momentum to Pakistan-Iran relations in the future. The emphasis on dialogue and diplomacy by the leadership of both countries is also being seen as a positive development in the region.

Government circles say that the recent meeting has paved the way for further strengthening the existing friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran and increasing cooperation to achieve common goals.
