Good news has come for LPG consumers at the beginning of the new month, as the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in the new prices of liquefied petroleum gas for July. After this decision, domestic cylinders will be available at a much lower price than before.

According to the latest notification of OGRA, the price of LPG per kg has been reduced by Rs 67.33. After this reduction, the new price of LPG has been fixed at Rs 241.43 per kg at the official level, while these rates will be effective from July 1.

Similarly, the price of 11.8 kg cylinders sold for domestic use has also been significantly reduced. According to the official announcement, after the price of the cylinder has been reduced by Rs 794.5, it will now be available to consumers for Rs 2,848.91.

LPG is a basic need of millions of families in different parts of Pakistan, especially in places where the supply of Sui gas is not available or limited. That is why every change in prices directly affects the household budget.

According to experts associated with the energy sector, the recent reduction in prices will reduce the fuel costs of small businesses, tea houses, food points and other commercial establishments, in addition to domestic consumers. If this trend continues in the market, its positive effects can also be seen on the prices of some services and food items.

Experts say that OGRA determines LPG prices every month by keeping in mind various economic factors, international market trends, import costs and local price formula. That is why there is a possibility of increase or decrease in prices every month.

Consumers have also been asked to buy LPG only from registered dealers at government rates and in case of collection of more than the fixed price, file a complaint with the concerned authorities so that the implementation of government rates can be ensured.

The new prices issued by OGRA will remain in effect for the entire month of July 2026, while the new rates will be set after re-evaluating the prices next month. According to energy sector observers, the recent reduction is expected to provide some financial relief to consumers facing inflationary pressures, especially households that rely entirely on LPG for their daily needs.
