Rain in Chhatta Bakhtawar made the situation more difficult. Normal life was affected due to standing water on the streets and roads. There were reports of water entering some houses.

The rain also affected power supply in different areas of the twin cities. Teams of relevant agencies were busy with restoration and drainage work in the affected areas.

The district administration in Rawalpindi imposed a rain emergency in view of the rain. WASA staff was mobilized and heavy machinery was deployed at different places to drain the water.

The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in several parts of the country. Apart from Islamabad and various parts of Punjab, rain is also likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur at some places. During this time, there is also a possibility of water level rising in the rain-fed rivers. Citizens have been advised to monitor the weather conditions and avoid unnecessary travel.

The situation of the rivers is also under surveillance. Medium flood has been recorded at Kalabagh in the Indus River. The water inflow here is said to be about 397,000 cusecs.

Low-level flood has been reported at Tarbela Dam, Chashma Barrage, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur Barrage. According to the Forecasting Division Lahore, the situation in other rivers of the country is currently normal.

The administration has continued to monitor the drainage and water level at sensitive places. Citizens have been asked to stay away from storm drains, underpasses and water-logged roads to avoid any unpleasant situation during the rain.
