Weekly bearish in PSX

Trading was volatile on Thursday, August 27, at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The KSE-100 index started the day on a positive note, but recorded a slight decline at the end.

The KSE-100 index closed at 177,322.77 points after a decline of 47.93 points. The index decreased by 0.03%.

The index opened at 178,012.40 points. During the day, it reached a high of 178,650.01 points. Later, the index also touched a low of 177,196.28 points.

There was a trend of both buying and selling in the market. At the end of the day, shares of some prominent companies supported the index. However, declines in several large stocks pressured the overall performance.

HUBC, ENGROH, POL, UBL and FFC were among the prominent stocks supporting the index. On the other hand, NBP, PPL, PSO, OGDC and SYS had a negative impact on the index.

The overall mixed trend was seen in the shares of companies included in the KSE-100. The share price of 48 companies increased while the shares of 52 companies decreased.

The trading volume of shares of companies included in the index was 218.45 million. This shows that there was activity in the market, however, investors adopted a cautious attitude.

The KMI-30 index, representing Sharia-compliant companies, also closed with a decrease. KMI-30 fell by 656.80 points or 0.26 percent. The index closed at 250,923.13 points.

The trading volume in KMI-30 was 114.37 million shares. This index also saw a mixed trend of buying and selling in shares of various companies.

Overall, the stock market did not see a big boom or a sharp decline today. The slight decline in KSE-100 indicates that investors traded cautiously.

The future direction of the market will depend on several factors. Domestic economic data, financial results of companies and global market trends can influence investors’ decisions.

A single day’s market performance cannot be considered a definitive indicator of future trends.
