Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government has not imposed any new tax during the past one year and has prioritized export-led economic growth.
Speaking after meeting a delegation of industrialists and businessmen, the Prime Minister said that attention is being paid to removing obstacles to increasing exports. The government’s aim is to promote business activities and provide a stable foundation for the economy.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Rs800 billion has been recovered in a year through enforcement. According to him, more steps will be taken to address the challenges facing the export sector.
The Prime Minister said that industrialists and the business community were consulted even before the budget was prepared. Despite the difficult economic conditions, the government continued to work on fundamental reforms.
During the meeting, business representatives emphasized the importance of continuous communication between the government and the private sector. The delegation said that consultations with the business community should continue in formulating economic policies.
Businessmen thanked the Prime Minister, describing the consultation process as beneficial for the economy. The meeting also emphasized strengthening cooperation and coordination for the promotion of industry and exports.
