Petrol and diesel become cheaper; new prices released

The government has reduced the prices of petroleum products and set new prices for petrol and diesel. The new prices will be implemented from 12 midnight tonight.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol per litre has been reduced by one rupee and 49 paise. After this reduction, petrol will be available at 387 rupees and 54 paise per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced. After a reduction of 2 rupees and 73 paise per litre in the price of diesel, the new price has been set at 402 rupees and 24 paise.

The new prices have been implemented for September 30. After this decision, car owners will get the benefit of a slight reduction per litre; however, its impact on overall travel costs may vary according to the usage and nature of the trip.

The reduction in the price of petrol directly affects the monthly budget of consumers who travel by car or motorbike daily. Although the reduction per litre is limited, the overall cost may make some difference for those who use more fuel.

The reduction in diesel prices is not limited to private vehicles. Trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles use diesel on a large scale. Therefore, the change in this price may also affect the costs of the transportation sector.

The change in the prices of petroleum products is usually made keeping in mind the global oil prices, the value of the domestic currency and other relevant factors. That is why consumers are also keeping an eye on the possibility of further change in prices in the upcoming review.

As per the latest government notification, petrol will be sold at Rs 387.54 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs 402.24 per litre. The new prices will be implemented starting at 12 midnight tonight.
