Fuel costs have increased for households using LPG since the beginning of October. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of LPG by Rs 20.68 per kilogram in its new monthly price list.
According to the OGRA notification, after the increase, the price of an 11.8-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been fixed at Rs 3,296.23. Compared to the previous price, a regular domestic cylinder has become more expensive by Rs 244.14.
The new prices have been fixed for October 2026. This decision will have a direct impact on the budget of consumers who use LPG for daily needs, including cooking.
The increase in the price of LPG comes at a time when many households are trying to limit their monthly expenses. The increase in the price of a cylinder by more than Rs 244 means that regular consumers will also have to adjust their overall monthly fuel budget.
LPG is more important in areas of the country where a pipeline gas facility is not available to every household. In these areas, the cylinder has become the main source of domestic fuel. In case of a price increase, consumers living there can feel its impact directly in their daily purchases and household expenses.
An important point for consumers is that the price fixed by OGRA and the amount paid in the local market are not always the same. The final price may differ due to local delivery and other business factors. Therefore, it is important to know the latest local rates at the time of purchase.
With the new October rates, additional pressure is likely to come on the monthly budget of LPG consumers. Especially those households that use multiple cylinders every month will have to calculate the total expenditure according to the new rates.
OGRA’s latest decision is part of the process of monthly changes in LPG prices. The important question for consumers now is which direction the prices of this fuel will go in the coming months and what impact it will have on the household budget.
