The prices of petrol and high-speed diesel have been increased in Pakistan for October 21. Under the new prices, petrol will be available at Rs 382.20 per litre, while diesel will be available at Rs 389.80 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by 88 paise per litre and the price of high-speed diesel by 53 paise per litre. The new prices will be applicable from Wednesday, October 21.
A day earlier, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 5.16 paise and the price of diesel by Rs 7.69 paise per litre. After the latest increase, there has been a minor change in the prices of both the products.
The change in the price of petrol may have an impact on the cost of motorcycles, private vehicles and other petrol-powered vehicles. On the other hand, the fluctuation in the price of diesel may affect the cost of freight, agricultural machinery and public transport.
The government had introduced a daily revision mechanism for determining the prices of petroleum products in July 2026. Under this system, the rates can be changed according to relevant factors, including oil prices in the global market.
