Amid the ongoing tension with the US, Iran has made it clear that any new military action will be met with a full response. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, while calling the cessation of fighting on all fronts essential for a ceasefire, has said that lasting peace cannot be established if regional conflicts continue.
Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran, Abbas Araqchi claimed that Iranian missiles had destroyed dozens of US fighter jets on the ground. This claim could not be independently verified with the available information.
According to the Iranian Foreign Minister, the issue of a ceasefire on all fronts has been raised continuously in talks with the US through the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar. He said that if war and conflict continue in any part of the region, peace cannot be guaranteed in the entire region.
Araqchi warned that new military action against Iran could further escalate tensions. His statements have come at a time when differences persist between Washington and Tehran despite diplomatic contacts.
On the other hand, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has said that the Iranian people will not bow to US military threats and pressure. He also hinted at a strong response in case of a violation of Iran’s territorial integrity.
According to Qalibaf, until the US implements its promises, its claims cannot be trusted. He also criticised the policy of pressure against Iran.
In recent days, regional countries, including Pakistan and Qatar, have stepped up diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran. On October 26, delegations from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey also arrived in Tehran, where they were expected to discuss regional stability and preventing a possible military conflict.
