Petrol and diesel become cheaper; new prices released

More than 15.5 million citizens have registered under the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Program so far, while a subsidy of Rs 28.6 billion has been distributed among the beneficiaries by November 4, 2026.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressing satisfaction with the progress and transparency of the program, has directed that the licenses of petrol pumps that do not provide subsidy to registered beneficiaries be canceled.

In a review meeting of the Fuel Relief Program chaired by the Prime Minister, officials said that a total of 15.5 million 19,282 citizens have registered under the scheme. Of these, about 15.06 million are motorcycle owners, while 449,000 people are owners of vehicles up to 800 cc.

The meeting was informed that 63.153685 fuel subsidy tokens have been issued to the beneficiaries so far, out of which 59.445347 tokens have been used.

According to officials, the total payments under the fuel subsidy program have reached Rs 28.6 billion as of November 4.

Shahbaz Sharif said that by simplifying the procedure for registration and obtaining subsidy, more deserving citizens are taking advantage of this facility. According to him, the technology-based transparent subsidy program can also prove effective for public welfare projects in the future.

The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to take strict action against petrol pumps that hinder the provision of their prescribed relief to the citizens entitled to subsidy and to cancel the licenses of the violators.

It was informed in the meeting that separate call centers have also been established to facilitate consumers and petrol pump owners to provide information related to the program and redressal of complaints.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Information Technology team in preparing a monitoring dashboard to monitor the program and ensure transparency.
