Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar Calls for Peaceful Protests Instead of Chaos

Islamabad: Ataullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information, has called for peaceful protests and said that the violent ones on November 26 and May 9 were wrong. When talking to the media, the minister said that he wished the protests had been marked by calm words like “oo-woo” instead of violent words like “gherao” and damage to property.

In response to what Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said, Tarar praised Gandapur for handling protests peacefully. He said that this was a good change that was in line with how things are done in civilised countries, where protests don’t get in the way of daily life.

“It’s commendable that for the first time in 10 months, Chief Minister Gandapur has demonstrated the correct way to protest,” said Tarar.

Tarar went on to say, “The people know that anarchy, riots, burning, and gherao are paths chosen by some elements, but they do not reflect the aspirations of a peaceful society.” This showed how much the country disliked chaos.

Later, Gandapur made a funny comment in Peshawar: if he didn’t give 50 million rupees to the University of Peshawar this year, people should protest against him by saying “aww.”

The government’s focus on calm social involvement and rejection of violent opposition is made clear by Tarar’s statements.
