Focus on Relocating Chinese Industries to Pakistan: Finance Minister

The Federal Minister of Finance Senator Mohammad Aurangzeb stresses that Pakistan must investigate possibilities for Chinese industrial relocation. During his World Economic Forum interview at Davos, the minister emphasised the strong, enduring relationship between China and Pakistan, where projects exist for long-term mutual advantage.

Through his statement, the finance minister demonstrated appreciation for China’s investments coupled with technology transfer and knowledge sharing procedures, while his government pledged its intent to develop Pakistan into an export centre for Chinese businesses. During phase two of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), China will concentrate on forming business alliances with Pakistan and moving Chinese industries to establish operations within Pakistani territories.

Senator Aurangzeb further mentioned efforts to launch the Panda Bond within this year, signalling Pakistan’s active pursuit of access to China’s capital markets. He also described the launch of the first-ever FDI Digital Initiative for Pakistan as an honour, stressing the importance of leveraging global experiences to advance Pakistan’s IT sector.

The finance minister declared Pakistan’s deep commitment to advance its relationship with China by maximising CPEC contributions to economic expansion and industrial transformations.
