Maryam Nawaz Unveils Landmark Progress in Punjab’s Largest Housing Initiative

Lahore: The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, announced an important achievement for the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar housing program, with more than 400,000 applications filed online.

Maryam Nawaz said in a statement that under the program, more than 9,000 people have received interest-free loans valued at more than PKR 8.5 billion.

She also gave updates on the state of the initiative, noting that, thanks to loans given under Phase One, 5,000 houses are under construction right now.

Three separate microfinance companies are reviewing applications gathered through the platform to guarantee openness. The lofty ambitions of the program—building 500,000 homes in five years and 100,000 homes within a year—were also underlined by the Chief Minister.

“This project will show to be the best housing endeavor ever started. Our dream is for every family to have a roof over their head and for none in Punjab to remain homeless.
