“Successes against terrorism have been squandered,” Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while addressing a meeting of the National Security Committee, said that the incompetent government formed in 2018 wasted the gains made in the fight against terrorism. Criticizing the PTI government, he said that the entire nation is suffering today for stopping the implementation of the National Action Plan.

The prime minister termed the opposition’s absence from the meeting as an escape from national responsibilities and said that attempts to drive a wedge between the army and the people will never succeed. Army Chief General Asim Munir briefed the meeting, while PTI, Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Akhtar Mengal did not attend.
