KARACHI – Gold jewelers and buyers were taken by surprise today when gold prices saw an unprecedented increase in a single day. The price of gold has increased by Rs 8,600 to Rs 348,000 per tola.
The new rate of 10 grams of gold has reached Rs 298,353 after an increase of Rs 7,373.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, gold also became expensive in the global market, where the price increased by $86 to $3,310 per ounce.
Analysts say that tensions in the global market, the change in the value of the dollar, and the increase in gold demand are among the main reasons for this sudden increase.
