Khawaja Asif Warns PTI: No-Confidence Move Will Backfire

ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has challenged the opposition to bring a no-confidence motion, saying the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would only expose its declining relevance if it attempts to do so.

Talking to reporters at Parliament House, Asif stated, “If PTI wants to go ahead with the no-confidence motion, Bismillah! But I advise them not to. Whatever little political credibility they have will be lost.” He further remarked, “If they proceed, their real standing will be exposed. This stunt will strip them of their last political mask.”

Asif also criticized PTI’s past performance in Parliament, stating that former Speaker Asad Qaiser functioned more like Imran Khan’s personal employee than a neutral parliamentary figure. “If anyone deserved a no-confidence motion, it was Qaiser,” he added.

He also emphasized that the current government has an “ideal level of cooperation” with the military establishment and is successfully navigating the economic crisis, contrary to PTI’s narrative.
